Technically, the app works great 👏❣️ There are some questions to the UI - as if the interface is 5 years old. On the new macOS, it looks alien. I hope this changes in some way in future updates., 19 November, 2021

Excellent translate app
Great translation app for everone. Recommend to all. I found a bug in the app that doesn't show phonetic whether I turn it on or off.
Mate for Mac
Extremely helpful
Their app is not only very helpful on my desktop but also on my phone. Receiving messages or texts in a foreign language makes it so much easier for me to translate. Their translation is I would say 95% accurate. Very happy with it.

Much better than expected
So far I haven't found a better translation program for French and English. There are a few minor word order issues here and there, but they're more stylistic than semantic, and hardly worth mentioning as they don't distort the meaning of the text. I did the following test to test the translation quality: A German text is translated into English, from English into French and then back into German and the great thing was: the back-translated text was there again, but in sic! better German. Bravo!

It finally works!
The translations are pretty good. The desktop browser extension used to annoy me, but the problems I used to have are fixed. My original comments... 1) I cannot translate a website or tab within the browser. UPDATE (10/2020): for the past couple of weeks I have tried using the new feature "Translate this page" which is supposed to solve my problem. It never works for me, but I hope it will get fixed soon. This is just what I wanted! UPDATE (8/2021): full page translation works on the desktop! Hurrah! 2) The Safari extension crashes randomly. Every time this happens I have to close all of my tabs and quit Safari to get the extension to reappear. UPDATE (10/2020): I have been in contact with the developer via their support email. I have sent several crash logs, but so far I have received no response about the cause of the problem. They stopped corresponding with me after a few emails. I hope they will not ignore my problem. UPDATE (8/2021): it doesn't crash anymore! Hurrah!
